Not the least of which to see how the show is going to go forward after the shocking changes that were introduced at the mid-season break.

With Carter out of a job, and Allison pregnant with Stark’s baby, the show has opened itself up for some interesting stories.

Also, there’s been Eureka news and spoilers that excite me that are unrelated to the mid-season ending episodes. I want to see how Carter handles another relationship for a while, because after thinking about it, I really want to see a break between him and Allison.

After Stark’s death (or not), I don’t think I’ll like it if Allison is ready to jump into another relationship too soon. I’m also hoping to see Stark again, and if I were to get my way, that would put a damper on anything happening between Allison and Carter.

So, I’m not too disappointed to see the show moving away from a strictly Carter / Allison pairing.

Eureka will be returning to the TV in July and I’m getting myself worked up over possible changes and happenings in the quirky little town of geniuses.

Last I remember, Carter was fired (saw that and cringed at the end of that episode), Allison was pregnant, and Nathan (and Eva Thorne) was gone.

What a way to start the rest of the season!

My biggest hope is that I won’t get lost on shownight. The series has moved from its usual Tuesday slot to the Friday slot that was held by Battlestar Galactica. I see this working out in one of two ways for me. Either I love having something of a lighter fare to watch on Friday evenings in place of BSG, or I constantly forget that Eureka has moved from the lovely Tuesday night spot.

I hope the former is true. I fear the latter.

I’m also excited to hear that there might be a love interest for Carter soon! I think the pregnancy kind of makes Allison off-limits for the time being (she has to have time to grieve properly, don’t you think?). As far as I know, Eureka won’t be back on with new episodes until after the new year. So, let’s hurry up and wait for 2009!

In the meantime, I want to talk about From Fear to Eternity…

I had my moment in the sun when I realized they were following up on the Jo Lupo and Zane Donovan moment I talked about in my comments about Here Come the Suns.

Now Zane on the other hand, I adore. However, I think there’s trouble to come between him and Jo Lupo. That relationship would certainly be on the skids if Jo were able to see the look on Zane’s face when she made certain serious overtures toward him. No secretive smile from him–he wants to run away. That’s the only way I can describe that look. So look out Jo! Maybe you’ll decide Tag’s the better man after all!

Did you notice how nothing really changed from the beginning of the episode to the end, even if they seemed to have resolved their temporary breakup? So look out Zane, because I hear that we’ll be seeing Taggart again sometime in the upcoming season three episodes.

From Fear to Eternity has Zoe facing repercussions after her slip in the goo in the underground government facility beneath Eureka (Phased and Confused). Although Henry gets to work right away trying to find a cure for Zoe’s deteriorating condition, only Eva Thorne knows what’s going on—and Carter is running out of time to get the answers Zoe needs.

Throughout this season’s episodes, Eva Thorne has been walking a fine line of villainy and goodness. Her actions in the early episodes made it hard to decide if she was out to get Eureka, or if she was just misunderstood.  I’m so glad this plot was wrapped up before the break!

Of course, they left us with another big question to have answered and that’s whether or not Carter will still be Sheriff come the second half of the season. Personally, I want Carter as Sheriff Carter, but I’m sure the writers can convince me otherwise if they try! :-) Uncle Carter though? I’m really not sure about that one! What about you?

I’d really love to know if you think you’ll like where they’re going with the new baby thing. With Lexi and Allison, that’s going to be a load of kids running around underfoot! What were they thinking?!

I’m looking forward to the return of Eureka after its mid-season break, but so far, I’ve found no dates for when that will be. I did get a hint from the Eureka Unscripted blog, but just a hint. I also spent the day watching a few videos, including the Comic Con video of the Eureka panel this year. I picked up a tidbit from it that updated another rumor—the one having to do with Carter’s possible future love life. No details here, because I’ve already written about it there. :-) Just follow the links and you’ll find all the details plus links to take you there if you want to watch or read for yourself.

Oh, and I updated the news and articles page with a link to the video tribute to Nathan Stark where the cast discusses Ed Quinn’s departure from Eureka.
